To set up your domain e-mail account on your iPhone default mail app (IOS 14.4 onwards), please follow the steps below.<\/p>\n

Make sure you know your domain email address AND password before you begin, to avoid any connectivity problems.<\/p>\n

You will be using the default mail app (blue icon) to send and receive your mail.\u00a0 \u00a0Click settings gearwheel to start…<\/p>\n

  1. Click Mail icon > Accounts. > Add Account >\u00a0Other > Add Mail Account > New Account (fill in 4 fields with your details)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    2.\u00a0 New Account details\u00a0 – LEAVE THE TOP TOGGLE ON IMAP!\u00a0 Incoming Mail Server –\u00a0 fill in the hostname: yourdomain.co.uk then username (which is your full email address)\u00a0<\/p>\n

    \u00a0Outgoing Mail Server –\u00a0 hostname: yourdomain.co.uk your username and password (it is NOT optional) > NEXT<\/p>\n

    3. make sure the mail toggle is enabled (green) > SAVE<\/p>\n

    4. Your email account is now ready.\u00a0 Press your home button, find your blue mail app icon and move somewhere convenient.\u00a0 Tap on it to open your mail.<\/p>\n

    Final step, make sure sent emails are stored on both your iPhone AND the server<\/h2>\n

    By default, iPhone selects not to store sent items on the server.\u00a0 I have personally not encountered this but, it is always best to check to make sure any domain emails sent using your iphone are later available to view both on your iphone and on the server to avoid any confusion, plus, if you ever lose your phone or access to it and need to access your email account via webmail, you will find everything there, fully synced.<\/p>\n

    Checking\/Adding the functionality for these items to be stored on both the iPhone and the server is rather simple.\u00a0<\/p>\n

    1. On the iPhone.<\/li>\n
    2. Click settings.<\/li>\n
    3. Click mail, contact, calendars.<\/li>\n
    4. Select the mail account you want to change.<\/li>\n
    5. Click on account info.<\/li>\n
    6. Scroll down to advanced.<\/li>\n
    7. You will now see a screen that says \u201cAdvanced\u201d. In this screen is a section called \u201cMailbox Behaviours\u201d.<\/li>\n
    8. Click on sent \u2013 mailbox button.<\/li>\n
    9. This will now display two sections. \u201cOn My iPhone\u201d and \u201cOn the server\u201d.<\/li>\n
    10. In the section \u201con the server\u201d should be a list of all your mailboxes.<\/li>\n
    11. Scroll down to sent items on the mail server and select sent items.<\/li>\n
    12. When you send an email from your iPhone, a copy will be passed to your mail server.<\/li>\n
    13. Your iPhone is now configured to record sent mail both on the device and server.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        3.\u00a0 Your phone will now sync with the server > click SAVE to complete. Now click home & tap the blue mail app icon to open your email account.<\/p>\n

        Send an email to another account you own and send it back again to make sure you are receiving incoming mail and they are outgoing.<\/p>\n

          Troubleshooting – Receiving but not sending?<\/strong>\u00a0<\/div>\n

          1. Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts > tap on mail account affected<\/li>\n
          2. Make sure the mail toggle by the blue envelope icon is on and showing green<\/span><\/li>\n
          3. Tap on the account name above the toggle<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

            Click on SMTP.<\/p>\n

            Make sure the the primary server is ON> , click on it and make sure the ‘Use SSL’ toggle is switched on (it will be green if so)<\/p>\n

            Authentication – make sure this is set to ‘password’<\/p>\n

            server port 587<\/p>\n

            If the primary server is not the same as the one you have in your outgoing mail server settings, you need to add it…<\/p>\n

            Under PRIMARY SERVER there is another option OTHER SMTP SERVERS<\/p>\n

            Click Add Server (if there is nothing there) or edit the one there. Fill in the host name, username (full email address) and password (not optional you must fill it in correctly) and click save – it will verify.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
